Don't leave your change up to chance.
Your everyday habits add up. That accumulation can be a blessing or a curse.
Hobbies, self-care routines, work or family ritual habits can add up to enrich your life.
While the effects of unhelpful habits can diminish your life. These can include:
Stress-eating or numbing out with alcohol
Forgoing “me” time to focus on meeting everyone else’s needs
Endless social media scrolling or bad news binging
Late-night Netflix marathons that affect your sleep and energy
Blurred lines between work and home life
Work stress affecting your performance or home life
You have more power than you think to change what's not working.
You are not destined to be stuck forever, and you don’t need to muster Olympic-sized willpower to change your ways.
You see, our brains and bodies are wired for survival. They are constantly scanning for threats and working to automate our actions in order to conserve energy.
That means your body is doing what it is wired to do when you engage in “bad” habits to alleviate uncomfortable feelings or unmet needs.
And the guilt and shame you may feel after performing the “bad” habit usually just leads to more of the same.
